During the coronavirus pandemic and its lockdown periods, visitors were strictly forbidden and we found that women recovered much more quickly after childbirth, and experienced significantly fewer difficulties with breastfeeding. This was also reflected in the feedback from new mothers – families found the quiet and calm atmosphere in the postnatal period was a very positive experience.
Consequently we recommend that you avoid additional visitors during the first 48 hours after your baby is born: enjoy this intensive, formative time together, just the three of you, and focus on bonding closely with your newborn baby.
