Minimally invasive surgery

In recent years minimally invasive surgery – meaning the smallest possible surgical intrusion, using incisions of just 1-2 cm length in the abdominal wall – can be used in almost every case. Around 90% of all procedures that used to be performed in “open” surgery are today carried out using this method (abdominal imaging or laparoscopy). In keeping with this trend, laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery is a specialism in this hospital.

These procedures are technically complex and require considerable experience and expertise, but as numerous studies have shown, there are obvious advantages for the patient. Apart from a more cosmetically pleasing outcome, the need for pain medication is reduced, the hospital stay and postoperative recuperation (and sick leave) are significantly shorter.

Breast Health

We are the only private hospital in Austria with an in-house certified Breast Health Center. Our radiology department is a certified facility for early recognition of breast cancer, using state-of-the-art mammography and tomosynthesis. In the event of an abnormal result, further investigation follows and where necessary, the appropriate treatment.

Endometriosis is the most common benign disease in women of childbearing age. The Endometriosis Center at the Confraternität & Goldenes Kreuz Private Hospital offers affected patients rapid and expert help, with interdisciplinary collaboration between specialists from various different medical fields.
